Clients' cases

Client: Expat in Spain needing a named EUR account to receive salary and pay rent

challengewith Keytom:

Getting a EUR IBAN required in-person visits and extra documentation, causing repeated delays.

They signed up remotely, got a named EUR IBAN, and can now receive salary and pay bills via SEPA — all from one account.

Client: Freelancer earning in crypto with everyday expenses in EUR

challengewith Keytom:

Getting paid in crypto was easy — spending it wasn't. Converting to EUR meant jumping between a wallet, an exchange, and a payment account, with extra fees at every step.

They keep income in crypto and convert to EUR directly in the app when needed. SEPA transfers and card payments — all from one place.

Client: Remote contractor receiving payments from EU and US clients in different ways

challengewith Keytom:

Some clients paid by bank transfer, others in crypto. Funds were spread across multiple services, conversions required extra steps, and tracking total income was difficult.

They receive EUR to their IBAN and crypto to their accounts in one app, convert when needed, and send payments from the same place.

Client: High-balance individual needing flexibility for large global operations

challengewith Keytom:

Large international payments triggered delays and additional checks. When timing mattered, slow support and queues made it worse.

They use a named EUR IBAN for transfers, hold crypto for additional flexibility, and spend with a virtual card supporting limits up to $150,000 per transaction. Priority support through a personal manager when it's needed most.

Client: Online seller and creator receiving payouts from multiple platforms

challengewith Keytom:

Platform payouts and affiliate income arrive at different times, sometimes in different currencies. Moving money to the right place for subscriptions, ads, and tools meant manual transfers and extra steps.

They receive payouts to their EUR IBAN, hold part of the balance in stable assets when needed, and pay for services directly from the same account.

FAQ

Keytom is a financial institution that provides you with single account for your everyday money and your crypto at the same time. Open a personal or business account and hold fiat and crypto side by side. Send and receive payments, exchange between them in a tap, and spend with the Keytom card. Everything lives in one simple app.

We welcome residents from 150+ countries. There are a few places we cannot serve yet for regulatory reasons, so the quickest way to check is our Customer Acceptance Policy, but most people around the world can open an account.

Yes. Keytom is available on both iOS and Android, so you can manage your money and crypto right from your phone.

We are fully digital, so we do not take cash deposits and there are no branches to visit. You can still withdraw cash at supported ATMs worldwide with your physical Keytom card.

Our team is here on business days, from 5:00 to 15:00 UTC. You can reach us any time through the in-app chat, the website, or [email protected], and if you message us after hours, we will reply the next business day.

Over 20,000 people around the world have already joined Keytom, and the community keeps growing every day.

No extra apps needed. You can exchange currencies right inside your Keytom account, in just a few taps.

We currently support ADA, AVAX, BCH, BNB (BSC), BTC, ETH, LTC, SOL, TON, XRP and USDC.

Quick tip: always send a coin using the network shown in your account, since sending on the wrong network can mean the funds are lost for good.

For euros, you can use SEPA and SEPA Instant. For US dollars, you have ACH, Fedwire, and SWIFT.

That covers both quick local transfers and international payments, all from the same account.

You can request them from the receiving bank, or ask us via in-app support chat or [email protected] and we will help you find them.

Yes, your crypto is yours, and you can move it to another exchange or wallet whenever you like. Just double-check the network and address before sending, since blockchain transfers cannot be undone.

An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is your account's international ID number. It is what lets you receive and send euro payments across EU smoothly, just like any European bank account.

Your EUR IBAN is issued in the UK, and the account is registered in your own name.

Yes. You are the account holder, and all the account details are in your name. Your funds are yours.

Yes. You do not need to be an EU resident, we serve customers in 150+ countries. You can check the short list of places we cannot serve yet on our restricted countries page.

Yes. Your IBAN is third-party friendly, so you can receive your salary, payments from friends, or transfers from yourself, in both euros and crypto.

Yes, a residence permit works for opening an account, as long as it is issued by a country on our accepted list.

Most accounts, both crypto and EUR, open almost right away, usually within 10 to 15 minutes. If yours has not opened after that, just message our support team in-app or via [email protected] and we will help.

Just the basics to keep your account secure: an ID (passport, national ID, or residence permit), a quick selfie, and proof of address. Once in a while we may ask for one more document, but for most people that is all.

Your account works like any other: receive and send money to your conterparties, friends, or yourself, and move funds to and from other banks. Euros and crypto, all in one place.

Every application gets a real review from our compliance team. Sometimes we need a bit more information, or an application does not fit our current policy. If you would like to understand a decision or appeal it, just reach out, we are happy to help.

Yes. You can swap euros to crypto and crypto to crypto right inside the app, with more currencies on the way.

The 'XXX' in a SWIFT/BIC code just means the transfer goes to the bank's main office rather than a specific branch. It does not change your transfer's speed, cost, or anything else, it is simply part of the standard code format.

You can close your account any time, just send a formal request from your registered email. We do keep some records afterwards because regulations require it, but that is standard for any financial service.

Verification is quick and built into sign-up. Just a few steps: pick your country, choose your ID, upload clear photos, take a short selfie, and add proof of address. Once it is approved, your account is fully unlocked, usually within minutes.

Most people are verified within minutes during business hours. Now and then it can take up to 24 hours, but it is usually fast.

Just an ID (passport, national ID, or residence permit), a quick selfie, and proof of address, like a recent utility bill, bank statement, lease, or government letter from the last 3 months. Occasionally we may ask for additional documents during the review process.

Once in a while, yes. Like any regulated service, we may ask for an extra documentation to keep things compliant.

Each and every application is reviewed on its own. If something is missing or does not fit our current policy, we may not be able to approve it. If you think that was a mistake or have questions, just reach out to [email protected] and we will take another look.

For proof of address, a recent utility bill, bank statement, lease, or government letter (within the last 3 months) works. For proof of funds, things like a bank statement, proof of income, a tax return, or a sale agreement. Everyday documents, nothing unusual.

These are personal account rates (business accounts have their own pricing), clear and upfront. Receiving euros: 0.5% + €0.25 (minimum €2.75). Sending euros: 1% + €0.25 (minimum €2.75). No hidden charges.

There are no fixed limits on your account. For security and compliance purposes we may sometimes ask about a transaction, but you are not capped by default.

SEPA Instant runs 24/7 and usually arrives instantly, as long as both banks support SEPA Instant.

Standard SEPA transfers usually arrive within 1 to 2 hours during business hours: 07:00 to 18:00 CET on weekdays, excluding weekends and bank holidays. In exceptional cases, standard SEPA transfers may take up to 3 to 4 business days, depending on the receiving bank.

Outgoing crypto transfers depend on the selected blockchain network and network confirmation times.

All fiat and crypto transactions are subject to compliance monitoring and review. In some cases, transfers may take longer if additional checks are required.

A transfer can take a little longer depending on the method, the receiving bank, or routine checks. If something has been pending for a while, just message us and we will look into it.

You can ask us to cancel a transfer, though it is not always possible. If it has not gone out yet, there is a chance we can stop it in time, so reach out to support as soon as you can.

Once a transfer has been sent it cannot be cancelled, but if it has already reached the other bank, you can ask that bank for a return, and if they send it back, we will return the funds and any fees to you. The same goes for incoming transfers.

Crypto transfers are permanent once confirmed, so we cannot reverse one sent to the wrong address. That is why we always suggest checking the address before sending, it takes a second and saves a lot of worry.

If you have sent euros to a fraudulent account, tell us right away with any evidence you have. We can try to recall the funds, it is not guaranteed, but the sooner you reach out, the better the chances.

We do not support USDT (because of MiCA regulations), but USDC works perfectly and is the one to use.

Your money's safety comes first. Crypto is insured up to $100 million through Fireblocks (underwritten by Marsh and Munich Re), and your EUR and USD funds sit in segregated accounts, kept separate from company money. Add 2FA on every transaction and accounts in your own name, and you are well protected.

If we ever spot unusual activity, we temporarily pause withdrawals and ask you for a little information, it is a safety step to protect your money. Your access opens back up as soon as you confirm the details. If the information provided is not satisfactory, we may decide to close the account.

No worries. Just send us a request from your registered email and we will help you get back in after a quick verification.

It happens. Send a request from your registered email and, after a quick verification, we will help you regain access.

Sure. Send a request from your registered email and complete a quick identity check, and we will help you reset it.

Send a request from your registered email to [email protected] and we will update your details once we have confirmed it is you.

For your safety, we never send account details by email or message. You will always find everything right in your dashboard.

Keytom offers both virtual and physical cards, running on the Visa scheme. Because the card uses a credit BIN, it works smoothly where a credit card is expected, like hotels and car rentals (it is not a loan, it simply spends from your balance). Availability can depend on your region: card issuance, physical card delivery, and card payments may be limited or unavailable in some jurisdictions.

It is not a loan, you are spending your own balance. It just carries a credit BIN, so it works nicely with hotels, car rentals, and anywhere that prefers a credit card.

You can add your virtual card to Google Pay or PayPal, and physical cards support contactless. Apple Pay is not available yet.

Yes, you can use the card on its own, no EUR IBAN required.

Everything is in your dashboard, freezing, details, and settings, all in one place.

The card is in USD and cannot be switched, but no need to worry, it automatically converts to the local currency wherever you pay.

Up to two: one virtual and one physical.

Here is the full breakdown, no surprises. Virtual card: free to open, $10/month for maintenance, payments 1% in USD or 2.35% in other currencies (min $0.66). ATM withdrawals 2% in USD or 3.35% in other currencies (min $0.66). Physical card: $50 delivery (about 14 days), $10/month for maintenance, same payment and ATM fees. With both cards active, the monthly fee is $20.

Keytom Cards are designed for high-value payments. The standard soft limit is around $150,000 per transaction, with no fixed cap on the number of transactions or monthly card spend.

ATM withdrawals are available up to 3 withdrawals per day and 30 withdrawals per month, with a $3,000 daily and $10,000 monthly cash withdrawal limit. The yearly ATM withdrawal limit is $100,000.

Pretty much anywhere Visa® is accepted, luxury boutiques, hotels, car rentals, groceries, restaurants, and online, in almost any country.

Topping up is easy. Your card spends from your USDC balance, so you can add funds by card via Visa Direct, top up USDC directly, or convert euros or crypto you already hold into USDC.

Yes, you can use it for subscriptions like Netflix or Spotify, Claude or ChatGPT. A few merchants set their own restrictions, which is out of our hands, but most work fine.

Up to 5 years, for both virtual and physical cards.

The $10 monthly fee is only charged while your card has enough balance to cover it. If there is not enough, the card simply stays frozen until you top it up, so an unused card never builds up a negative balance or debt.

No, cards do not have a SWIFT code, that is only for bank transfers.

Just enter your card details at checkout, or use Google Pay for online and in-person payments. Some shops add a 3DS security check, in which case you will get a one-time code (OTP) by SMS to confirm it is you.

Your CVV is the 3-digit code on the back of your card. Keep it private, never share your card number, expiry date, or CVV with anyone.

We base crypto-to-USD rates on the weighted average of the top 5 global exchanges, so your rate always tracks the real market.

Only if the ATM supports Contactless payment systems. For regular ATM withdrawals, you will need the physical Keytom card.

Yes, with your physical card at ATMs on the major networks. Some ATMs add their own fee, set by the operator, not by us.

Do not worry if an ATM shows a zero balance, Keytom cards just do not display it there. You can still withdraw as normal.

Small differences can happen because exchange rates move between when a payment is authorised and when it settles. If it settles higher, the difference is taken; if lower, it comes back to you.

When you pay by card, the amount is first held as "pending" while the payment settles, which is a normal part of how card payments work. It stays pending until the merchant confirms the final operation (a charge, cancellation, or refund) through their bank, and then the status updates automatically.

The timing depends on the merchant, not on us: most payments clear within 1 to 3 business days, though some categories like hotels, car rentals, airlines, and subscriptions can take up to 30 days. If no confirmation comes in, the hold is released automatically once the card scheme's window ends.

If a declined payment still shows a charge, it is usually just a status that has not updated yet. Give it one business day to clear.

Hotels, car rentals, and gas stations often place a temporary hold that is a bit higher than the final bill. It adjusts once the payment settles, and any difference comes back to you (refunds usually take 2 to 15 days).

If a charge was not from Keytom but from another platform, reach out to that merchant for a refund. Once they send it back, we pass it straight to you.

Refunds start with the merchant: they send it back, we receive it, and we credit your account. It usually takes 2 to 15 days, sometimes a little longer.

When you pay with your card, a payment fee is added to the purchase: 1% for USD payments or 2.35% for payments in other currencies, with a $0.66 minimum fee applied in all cases.

If the transaction is refunded, the refund usually covers the original purchase amount, but not the payment fee that was charged at the time of purchase. This means the amount returned to your account may be slightly lower than the total amount originally debited.

No extra refund fee is charged. The difference comes only from the original payment fee.

Cards usually work right after you create them. If a service like PayPal or Amazon gives you trouble, wait a couple hours and try again, and if it sticks, we are here to help.

Some platforms block cards for in-game purchases, this is a platform-level limitation, not ours. A few categories (like fuel pumps, gambling, and a few others) are not supported either. If you hit an unexpected decline, just ask us.

First, make sure your SIM card is activated. It can also be a carrier delay or a wrong number on file. If it continues, message us and we will sort it out.

To cancel a subscription, do it on the merchant's site or with their support, since it is an agreement between you and them. We are not able to cancel it for you.
